Dean is passionate about organic and holistic means for caring for a landscape. In his opinion, the fewer chemicals, the better. That means, if the grounds around your castle are looking a little less than enthusiastic and seem to have lost their “oomph,” Dean will arrange for a tea party.
Granted, this isn’t the kind of tea you’ll want to drink, but compost tea is like manna from heaven to soil and the plants living there. Compost tea naturally boosts the nutrients in the soil and is completely harmless to pets and people. DeSantis Landscapes applies it with a sprayer, so application is easy, too.
Honestly, if your landscape could talk, it would be singing your praises after a compost tea “party.” (And you don’t even need to dress up for it.)
DeSantis Landscapes also uses compost as top dressing on beds (in your garden). It used to be that bark dust was the finishing touch of choice but, after some research into its pros and cons, Dean opted to switch to compost. The reason was simple: bark dust is devoid of nutrients. It might look pretty, but it does nothing to improve your soil or support the lives growing nearby.
Compost, though, feeds the soil all through the season. When the time comes to redress your beds, compost can easily be amended into the ground providing further benefit to your landscaping investment.
You may be sensing a theme here. Dean believes in being a good earth steward and encourages his clients to adopt the same attitude. To make that easier, they offer DeSantis EarthSense, an organic lawn care program that uses sustainability and natural nutrients to maintain your grounds.
Each program is individually tailored to your specific landscape–including the micro-climates that exist within your larger grounds. Over time, you’ll use less water and cleanse your property of harmful synthetic fertilizers and herbicides. By utilizing this program, you ensure a landscape that will be robust, healthy and beautiful naturally.
If you have children or pets, how could you not seriously consider implementing this program in your yard? Visit their website at www.desantislandscapes.com to learn more about this forward-thinking landscaping company and their DeSantis EarthSense organic lawn care program.
